International Street Fair set for Saturday

The International Street Fair will be this Saturday in downtown Edwardsville.
The event will be conducted at the Edwardsville City Park from noon to 4 p.m.
This event is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board of SIUE.
The International Street Fair provides a selection of events that will offer members of the community an opportunity to learn and experience different cultures though a wide-selection of entertainment, education, gift shopping and taste tasting.
There will be performers, musicians, dancers, artists and craftpersons representing a multitude of cultures in one setting. During the event, four different cultural performers will be on stage throughout the afternoon.
The groups to perform include: Capoeira of Brazil from noon to 12:50 p.m.; Irish Xiles from 1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.; Kenya Ajankaku from 2 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.; and Tigers Lion Dance Group from 3 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.
Along with the many performances, the event will also include a wide variety of activities. Some of the activities for children include: face painting, airbrush tattoos, mask making, a bounce house and spin art.
There will also be more than 15 different vendors at the event selling a variety of items that will range from foods to crafts. The International Street Fair is free and open to the public. However, food and vendor items will be at cost.
The Edwardsville City Park is located at 101 South Buchanan or adjacent to the Edwardsville Public Library.
